RI President Rtn. Ray Klinginsmith stresses the ‘Rotary Tradition’ while delivering his speech and explains the Rotary Theme for the year 2009-10. Each member is a part of that Great Rotary Tradition that involves in it a rich, eloquent past and a strong future as well. It is like a chain, as Kenny likes to assert, that joins the past with the future. The merit and appeal of Rotary lies in its eventful past that will eventually unite the future.

Each Rotarian now are to believe that he essentially inherits all the essence of his predecessors and hence holds that spirit that will certainly make a well-built future for Rotary. It is not that Rotary will be organized and developed in RI headquarters, as Kenny’s powerful observation shows, but it is the club members who are to weave tomorrow’s Rotary. And that precisely makes out one thing:

Future of Rotary is in Your Hand.

The Future depends on what we do in the present.
                                                                        - Mohandas Gandhi

We see ourselves as part of a great Rotary tradition, as links in a chain joining our future to our past.
                               - John Kenny
