A quick glimpse on Rotary Club of Sonarpur
Rotary club of
Sonarpur initiated its journey in 1986 with a view to join the Rotary
family as a useful and worthy one. District Governor A K Dutta organized
and developed the club under his dynamic leadership in 1985 – 1986.
Initially the
Rotarians observed it wise to provide their service to the ailing
communities of the underprivileged Sundarban area. Sonarpur is situated
in the borderline of Sundarban region with an enormous set backs like
poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, poor sanitation, and much more like
these. Apart from this the territory very often gets affected by the
flood. |

It was enough reasons for the Rotarian to spot this territory as the way to render their service as the most people here lived below the poverty line. This club feels proud to be the assets of this neglected territory. |
